September 2026: Marigold Bagels is seeking a full-time Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for preparing hot and cold sandwich items to order in a fast-paced production environment, with an emphasis on consistency, speed, and food safety.
Schedule: Full-time, Wednesday–Sunday
Compensation: Pay depends on experience; Marigold Bagels pays above minimum wage for all positions
Responsibilities:
Prepare hot menu items to order, including eggs, bacon, ham, and other proteins, using the grill and broiler
Assemble cold sandwiches as needed during service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line throughout each shift
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
Restock and prep ingredients as needed to maintain service flow
Qualifications:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably on a fast-paced line
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Current California Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain one prior to start date
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs
Comfortable working near hot equipment in a fast-paced kitchen environment

PART TIME CASHIER
Marigold Bagels — North Park, San Diego
Marigold Bagels, San Diego Magazine's two-time Critics Choice Best Bagel winner, is hiring a part-time cashier to run the front counter on weekends. You'll be the first face customers see, handling orders, payments, and the kind of fast, friendly service that keeps a line moving on a busy Saturday morning.
Schedule: Weekends only, 8-hour shifts (approx. 6:30 AM–2:30 PM). Reliability on Saturdays and Sundays is non-negotiable.
Pay: DOE; Marigold bagels pays above minimum wage for all positions
What you'll do:
Greet customers, take orders, and process payments accurately on our Toast POS
Keep the line moving during peak rushes without sacrificing accuracy or friendliness
Answer questions about our menu, bagels, and offerings
Keep the front-of-house area clean, stocked, and presentable
Support the team during high-volume service
What we're looking for:
Some retail or hospitality experience
Genuine, upbeat customer service skills and a calm head under pressure
Comfort handling cash and card transactions accurately
Dependability and punctuality
A person who can identify solutions, not only problems
